Stephan's Airline Stuff
Searching for a fare? Try these Web-based sites.
The best way to find the cheapest ticket with the most options. With all of these sites, experimenting with the airlines, times, dates, and airports can make a huge difference in fares.
Tom Parsons'Bestfares.com Allows you to read some information about the fare, but requires you to be a subscriber for the real information (US$60 per year).
Cheaptickets.com Requires a login name and password. Can set up your personal "Flight Tracker" which will notify you of cheap fares.
EXPEDIA Requires a login name and password to purchase tickets. Can set up your personal "fare tracker" which will automatically notify you of cheap fares via email.
Hotwire Allows you to name your price, then shows your possible fares. Probably best if you are flexible and are able to travel at the last minute.
LastMinuteTravel.com For the traveler who just wants to go anywhere. There are some good bargains here.
Orbitz A website run by several major U.S. airlines to provide a low-price search for tickets.
Priceline.com The "name-your-price" way to purchase both domestic and international tickets. Best if you are very flexible, i.e. don't care when and where you are going, and especially for international travel during the off-season. In most cases will let you know within 15 minutes whether your offer will be accepted.
Travelocity Requires a login and password to purchase tickets. Also has an email "fare tracker".
OTHER AIRLINES Looking for a regional airline in another part of the world? Try Karl L. Schwartz' "KLS2 webpage" for links to airlines around the world.
